Summer Camps 2026: How to Choose the Right One for Your Child?

KidsMap Team

20. April, 2026

Summer holidays are a time of rest, adventure, and new experiences for children. For parents, however, they often bring one key question: how to choose the right summer camp?

In 2026, the range of options is more diverse than ever before—from sports and language camps to creative, artistic, and technology-focused programs.

To make your decision easier, we’ve divided summer camps into several clear categories based on their focus. This way, you can quickly find a program that matches your child’s interests—whether it’s sports, languages, creative activities, or time spent in nature.

Sports Day Camps

Sports camps are among the most popular summer programs for children who enjoy movement, games, and staying active. Kids get to try a variety of sports, improve their fitness, and have plenty of fun with their peers. They are suitable both for children who are already into sports and for complete beginners.

⭐ Kidsmap Tip: Gymnathlon – Sports Day Camp

Gymnathlon is a sports day camp for children aged 4 to 11, focused on all-round physical development through games, sports, and fun activities.

The program is built on the idea that children should develop a positive relationship with sports without pressure to perform. Over the course of five days, kids take part in a variety of physical activities, team games, and training of basic sports skills, all tailored to their age.

The camp takes place at multiple locations across the Czech Republic, typically within school and sports facilities in different cities. Parents can choose a specific location based on the available dates and convenience.

📅 The camp runs in weekly sessions throughout the summer holidays 2026
🕘 Daily schedule: approximately 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (Monday–Friday)

The programs are based on playful activities, fairy-tale stories, and a safe environment with an emphasis on individual care. Residential Camps

Residential camps are an ideal choice for children who want to experience a real summer adventure away from home. Kids spend several days in nature, learn greater independence, build new friendships, and take away strong memories they often recall for years.

The program is usually diverse—from games and sports to camp activities, evening programs, and trips. A major advantage is also the close contact with nature and the opportunity to “disconnect” from everyday routines. Residential camps are especially suitable for older children or for those who already have some prior camp experience.
