Letnice is a parent-and-child center and a children’s group located in Prague’s Letňany district. It serves as a welcoming place for parents, babies, toddlers, preschool children, grandparents, and whole families.
The parent-and-child center is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and offers regular morning and afternoon playgroups for parents with children. The program also includes family events such as theater performances, pumpkin festivals, St. Nicholas celebrations, drumming sessions, family photo studios, children’s clothing bazaars, Yamaha music classes, seminars, workshops, and other educational activities for parents.
The playroom is run by an “Active Mom”, who prepares coffee or tea for visitors, and light refreshments are available. Dishes, cutlery (including plastic), and a microwave for heating food are freely accessible. The facilities are fully adapted to children’s needs, including potty chairs, toilet seats, step stools, changing tables, high chairs, and a cot for the youngest babies.
On weekends, the space can be booked for birthday parties or other family gatherings. During the summer months, day camps organized by the Kazimírka association, which oversees Letnice, take place here.
Letnice also includes a children’s group registered with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MPSV), operating from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. It accommodates a small group of up to 12 children aged 2 years until school entry. The program offers a variety of activities, including games, nursery rhymes, songs, storytelling, exercise, dancing, music and art activities, and outdoor play, all in accordance with the Letnice Children’s Group Education and Care Plan. Attendance can be chosen full-time or on selected days of the week.
